All about background & education
Dr. Shereen Alikhan is a native Houstonian who grew up in Sugar Land. She completed her undergraduate studies and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston, Honors College. She then started her medical training and graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and went on to graduate from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Alikhan is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
A little on experience in pediatrics
After graduation, Dr. Alikhan left Houston and moved to Lexington, Kentucky for her husband’s subspecialty medical training. While in Lexington, she was a practicing pediatrician and earned the Lexington Family title of “Mom Approved Pediatrician of 2014,” after just her first year of being a pediatrician. Though she misses the patients she left behind in Kentucky, she is very proud and excited to have the opportunity to serve children in her hometown of Sugar Land.
A passion for pediatrics & special interests
Dr. Alikhan has always enjoyed pediatrics because of the interaction she gets to have with patients from their early years. Sharing in patients’ early milestones and watching them grow up is always a fun-filled and gratifying journey for her. Some of Dr. Alikhan’s special interests in pediatrics include newborn nursery, asthma, childhood obesity, and preventive medicine.
Fun facts on personal life
In her spare time outside of the office, Dr. Alikhan loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys working on arts and crafts projects, watching movies, traveling, and exploring new cuisines with her husband.
