Shirley J. Dopson, DO, is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology and has been practicing for over 13 years. She attended the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine for her medical degree and then went on to the Crozer-Chester Medical Center/Temple University for her residency. Additionally, Dr. Dopson completed her nephrology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. During her training, she was named chief resident. She is a board member for numerous professional organizations including the Washington Hospital Physician Organization and is co-chairperson for the National Kidney Foundation Medical Advisory Board in Pittsburgh. Dr. Dopson was also named Teaching Attending of the year for a local residency program.
Dr. Dopson works together with each patient to make a treatment plan that he or she can achieve. She believes in working on modifiable risk factors to prevent the progression of kidney disease.
In her free time, Dr. Dopson enjoys watching her children play ice hockey. She also enjoys spinning or cycling when time allows.
