Shuchi Desai, MD is a trusted and reliable OB-GYN caring for the Plano, TX community. She grew up in Houston, TX and then attended The University of Texas in Austin, graduating magna cum laude. She then went on to attend medical school here in Dallas at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and graduated with the honors of Alpha Omega Alpha. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University in St. Louis, which is recognized as one of the best programs in the nation.
While in residency she served in medical missions in Ethiopia and Guatemala. She participated in research during medical school and residency and has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings.
She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and her areas of special interests include minimally invasive gynecology, complete obstetrics, women’s preventative care, menopausal transition, contraceptive counseling, and adolescent gynecology. In addition to English, Dr. Desai speaks French, Hindi, and Gujarati. Her awareness of these different languages makes her accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Desai enjoys running, playing with her two dogs, traveling with her husband, hiking, and playing tennis. She believes in listening to each patient and creating a partnership to maintain and improve lifelong health.
