During my procedure at the hospital Dr. Cofrancesco was so sweet and kind. When I mentioned something to the nurses, they said he was like that with all of his patients. Dr. Cofrancesco is very professional yet has a soft demeaner - he makes you feel very comfortable. You also feel like he is listening to what you have to say.

Just excellent. Dr. C is so complete with going over all tests taken recently and what are results showing to do next steps! He explains everything so thorough. His bedside manner is beyond reproach.

Dr. Simon Cofrancesco, DO is board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Medical Society.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Dr. Cofrancesco grew up in West Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1985 he graduated Cum Lade from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, earning the Springfield Academic Achievement Award and gaining entrance into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. He attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences where he was inducted into the Psi Sigma Alpha National Osteopathic Scholastic Honor Society. Dr. Cofrancesco served his residency at the Western Campus of Tufts University at Baystate Medical Center in his hometown of Springfield and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn.
After finishing his training, Dr. Cofrancesco worked at the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi, for over sixteen years and was named Chief of Staff in 2007. Longing to open his own practice and serve a small community, Dr. Cofrancesco moved his family to Cumming, Georgia, and opened GI North in 2011. Dr. Cofrancesco and his wife, Roxanna Redden of Monroe, Louisiana, have five active young children who all enjoy living in North Georgia.
