Sofiane El Djouzi, MD, MS, MBA, DABOM, FRCS, FACS, FASMBS
With over 15 years of experience in bariatric and metabolic medicine, I am dedicated to helping patients achieve transformative health through personalized, compassionate care. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Algiers Faculty of Medicine in Ziania, completed my internship at Metropolitan Group Hospitals in General Surgery, and continued my residency at the University of Cincinnati. My fellowship training in bariatric surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, along with board certification in Obesity Medicine, reflects my commitment to excellence. I’m also affiliated with the University of Chicago, contributing to advancing obesity treatments.
I understand obesity is a complex condition, not simply a matter of willpower. Every patient’s needs and goals are unique, so my team and I create holistic, individualized care plans that empower patients on a lifelong health journey, where surgery is one part of a comprehensive approach. I prioritize open dialogue, encouraging questions and concerns, and offer access to a supportive online community for insights into the bariatric journey.
I provide a full range of bariatric procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries such as gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, SADI-S, lap band, and gastric balloon. I have developed specialized expertise in robotic bariatric surgery revisions, with many physicians referring patients to my care for this advanced procedure.
