I love Dr. Salgado she is always so calm and collected. I never feel rushed through my appointments but I also don’t feel like I’ve been in the office forever. I love her staff as well. Each member of that team takes their time with the patients and provides great care.

The front desk is very nice and helpful here. I had to fill out a lot of paperwork as a new patient which did cause my visit to be lengthier, but that’s not their fault. The nurse was nice and Dr Salgado was quick but friendly. There is ample parking and the office is easy to find, and booking my appointment was simple as can be. Getting my prescription was uncomplicated. Overall the experience was pretty painless.

Dr. Sonia Salgado was born and raised on the beautiful Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico, and completed her specialty training at St. Luke.s Memorial Hospital. We call her Dr. Salgado, but others may call her Lt. Col. Salgado, as she has served 19 years in the United States Air Force. At Andrews Air Force Base, she was the Chairperson of the OB/GYN Department.
Dr. Salgado joins our practice in 2007 with 17 years experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology. As a professional woman, a military officer, a wife and a mother, she has learned the importance of team work. Dr. Salgado employs the .team work. philosophy in working with her patients, and enjoys the patient who comes prepared with her questions and research.
As a Board Certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology, this doctor has particular interest in vulvar disorders, sexual dysfunction issues, and hormone replacement therapy.
Dr. Salgado is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and currently sits on the Quality Assurance Committee at Alexandria Hospital.

At first I waited undressed for 45 minutes. I’ve been to other gynecologist and they never hurt my private parts as they did here. I had to wait another 45 minutes to get the receipt so I can pay. They gave me the prescriptions but no instructions on when to use them.

Visit was ok. I thought it was awkward that she did not introduce herself when walking in the room and went straight to business... the nurses also punctured a vein in my arm when taking my blood. Overall, would not recommend.

I absolute love Dr. Salgado! I always bombard her with questions lol but she is so patient and calm it truly puts me at ease. She is super sweet and one of the best gynecologist I’ve had.

She's very brief but friendly which after reading the other comments seems to be the consistent experience. I went for an annual as a new patient and she asked no history whatsoever, which as a physician myself, was a bit surprising. I was lucky to have come prepared with my questions or else I don't think she would have asked if I had any

I would rate it as one of - if not - the worst annual pap experiences I've ever had. The nurse who brought me into the room was very short and rude when asking about pharmacy info -I would describe it as she talked at me not with me. She had me look up the address and phone number for her on my phone right there, before even starting. From that point forward I felt uncomfortable, like I was a burden for being there.
I waited in the room longer than I have with other OBGYNs. When the Dr. arrived, I wanted to talk about IUDs but she was rushed and did not go in depth with me on this method - she seemed apprehensive to discuss. Because I already felt like a burden just by being there, I stopped pursuing the convo and still regret it. She finished her work and said she would be back with info on the IUD (which I was excited to hear because I could use it as another attempy to pick her brain), but that was the last I saw of her. Instead, the original, cold nurse came back handed me some pamphlets, told me that they would be calling my insurance to see if they covered IUDs, and I would have to call their office in a few days to hear if they were approved. Thanks, no thanks. The nicest person was the woman who drew my blood, she was very personable. However, when she drew it something must have happened because there was a bit of strange pain in my arm while the needle was in, I became light-headed and queasy, and for several days after I had bruising around the elbow.

Dr Salgado is great. She was personable and I loved her feedback. The office is very nice and the Dr's were nice (they all spoke) when passing by. The staff on the other hand were intense. from the young lady that called me at 8:00 to question my reasoning for my appt to the nurse that took my weight. These women need help in the customer service department....Fast!

I was very happy with the service and how quick I was to go in. Honestly I'm a big girl and normally they have a hard time finding my veins and make it really painful but this was the best experience I've ever had. I highly recommend going here.

Most disinterested doctor I've ever seen. Dr Sonia's nurse doesn't care about anything and never gets back to you for any follow up.Her phone always goes on voicemail and turnaround time is about 20 days after you try and leave multiple voicemail messages.The doctor comes in disinterested and in a not care mode - hurries to finish everything and runs out.
Don't recommend this at all!!!!

The office staff were very pleasant and I was taken back by the nurse within 5 minutes of completing my paperwork. The nurse was wonderfully friendly and Dr. Salgado was as well.
Dr. Salgado was quick and efficient but was absolutely thorough and took the time to answer my questions and explain everything in detail. She was also gentle and comforting.
