Let me start out by saying I have never been to a dermatologist office before so this was my first experience... and it was awful. The facilities are out dated, that should’ve been the first red flag. No one was at the front desk they were taking and extended lunch, I had to call out to see if anyone was there who could help me. Dr. Sonya was in network, but I paid upfront and now am having issues with several bills coming through that don’t add up — I’ve had to pay almost the whole visit out of pocket and am submitting a claim. During the visit the nurse assistant I was treated with, asked me a few questions from an iPad, she then proceeded to take a picture of me for my supposed patient portal profile. I didn’t sign a photo release form prior to the assistant taking my picture nor can I see that picture on my patient portal. When Dr. Sonya entered the room she came with another assistant whom she did not introduce to me, the assistant didn’t even introduce herself to me until it was only her and I in the room. Dr. Sonya gave me a once over in a matter of less than 5mins and determined on an alphabetic scale what I had looked benign, but still pushed me to get a test done to know for sure. I wasn’t expecting to go through a removal procedure that day but I felt like I was strongly urged to. After the procedure I had asked for additional gauze from the assistant, she rummaged through the cabinet and said she was out so she went to grab more. I sat in the room for almost 10mins, thinking this is ridiculous, so I hopped up grabbed some cotton balls and was on my way out the door. I left there feeling completely uneasy and slightly violated. Don’t recommend this Dr. and will never return.

I’ve never been to a dermatologist, Dr Johnson is by far the whole package. This women and her staff was by far the most professional, efficient, courteous, and helpful less not forget knowledgeable and down to earth.

The office staff was gravely unprofessional. You could sense apparent animosity between the staff about an issue with my HIPPA form not being saved the first time I signed it. I could hear the nurses outside of my exam room door talking about other patients and I felt like I was just a number to them not really a patient. I won’t be returning for a follow up.

However, everything went great from my check in with the receptionist, meeting the nursing assistants, my appointment with the doctor, removal of my cyst, and setting up my follow up appt. Highly efficient, competent, and friendly office staff and doctor!

While the staff and doc were pleasant, my visit was not. I spent a total of almost 3 hours for this particular doctor visit. While it was explained to me (after an hour and 20 minutes) that they were short on staff, the atmosphere was disorganized and it felt rushed. As a first time derm visit and first timer at this clinic I did not feel like my time was valued. It would have also been helpful to take a couple, extra minutes to slowly explain things to a self-disclosed "nervous" patient! While I completely understand things happen and low staff can be unavoidable some days, I left the office without a good feeling.
