Showed up and my appt. was not with Dr. Sonya Lazarevic, who I had scheduled with. Instead, upon arrival I was met by a nurse practitioner who was under supervision by Dr. Sonya Lazarevic. I actually liked her, but was annoyed to be paired with someone else because I had scheduled so far in advance and no one from the office contacted me to notify me of the change.

I have struggled to find mental healthcare in New York, and more broadly, in the United States. Dr. Lazarevic was helpful, empathetic, and gave instant helpful feedback.
I am looking forward to a long term care plan in her practice.

Dr. Lazarevic was helpful. She listened carefully, took my history down, and asked questions in a non-condescending manner. She's easy and comfortable to open up to, and I felt like she was very engaged during our entire session.
She doesn't throw medication at you like it's a one-size-fits-all approach. She takes her time and gets to know the patient before prescribing anything. I'm glad I found her and I hope to continue to see her for my psychiatric needs.

Topline: She wont help you. She wont remember who you are. She wont prescribe you the medication you're looking for. This doctor is a waste of your time. Go elsewhere.
While she's very nice in person she isn't very good at her job. I was asked to complete an extensive online form and provide her release of information from my previous doctor prior to the meeting. When I showed up on my first visit she had no idea who I was, hadn't read through any of my information and hadn't contacted my previous doctor. We spent the whole session refilling out basically the same questionnaire I had already completed for her. Plus, she wasn't even able to complete it in one session. So I had to come back and pay her for another useless session. She wouldn't prescribe me the medication I was already taking and when asked for it again, I was told I would need to come in for another appointment.

Very thorough review of history, which made me feel confident that she was thinking about all factors. But I was expecting an hour long appointment, and it was only 30 minutes. So I have to make another appointment to get through the rest.
