Very professional staff from the minute I walked in the door. Barely sat down in the Waiting room before I was called for the examination. Everyone I met explained everything very thoroughly and In way a layman would understand.

Spencer E. Sherman, MD is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in laser-assisted cataract surgery, glaucoma management and contact lenses who has been passionately serving the Upper East Side community for more than 40 years. Thanks to his ongoing dedication and research during his medical career, Dr. Sherman has been awarded the distinction of the “Top Eye Doctor” in New York for past 20 years. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp as a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
After completing his undergraduate degree and graduating with honours from Princeton University, Dr. Sherman attended medical school at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He later finished his internship and residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital. Today, Dr. Sherman is an active member in numerous national and international medical organizations and is the founder of the Eye Department of the United Nations, Alcon Eye Museum, Chairman of the Ophthalmology Department of North General Hospital, and founder and chairman of the Museum of Ophthalmology of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Sherman has been a guest professor and lecturer at many leading medical institutions around the world and has published textbooks and scientific articles in numerous journals. For his service to ophthalmology, Dr. Sherman has received “The Honour Award” and “The Service Award” by the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

This doctor doesnt accept vision insurance which is why i booked the appoitnment, because they supposedly took my vision insurance. Also i specifically booked for a contact lens fitting which they are making me come back a second time for. Never had to do this before.
