I only treat patients 14 years and older.
I practice a personal kind of psychiatry that is disappearing in the era of highly managed psychiatric care and the fifteen minute medication visit. Even managing medication for a patient seeing another therapist, my follow-up visits are all 25-45 minutes, and I remain interested in the big picture of each patient as an individual human being who I am helping to get better and move ahead in his or her life. I have to remain in touch with what is going on in the lives of my patients, rather than merely tallying up symptoms and writing prescriptions.
I practice psychopharmacology of mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD and OCD. I like complex cases and most of my career I have worked in a general medical setting. I have extensive experience in working with college students, and those aged 18 to 30 around work performance and social issues.
I have a high level of commitment to my patients, tremendous optimisim and never give up on a patient who is commited to the work. In my life and in my work I have found persistence pays off. I love my work, and consider myself lucky to have this calling.
