Dr. Stephen Chinn graduated from U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry in 1972. He has been married since 1977, and has one daughter who is currently attending Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
Dr. Chinn has been in private practice for over 30 years, he has also been affiliated with Vision Source since 1999. He currently holds hospital privileges for elderly care at Community Convalescent Home of La Mesa, and donates his time seeing patients at La Maestra Community Clinic. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys baseball, football, tennis, and swimming. In addition to English,
Dr. Chinn speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Laotian, Cambodian, and Spanish. Dr. Chinn attends Horizon Christian Fellowship on a regular basis, and is a member of the California Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and the Vista Chamber of Commerce.

Love this optometrist! I’ve been going to him for two years now and my boyfriend has for three, even after we moved out of the North Park area! Dr. Chinn is a really great doctor and really knowledgeable. The office has cool machines as well and they’re transparent about costs and options like if you want to get your eyes dilated or pay to just have a picture taken. He’ll be my doctor as long as I’m in San Diego

Loved this office! Everyone made me feel very welcome and comfortable, very friendly environment. I have had an eye exam before but it had been a while and the technicians explained everything and I felt super comfortable there. Would definitely recommend!

Dr Chinn's staff was very efficient, if a little bit mechanical. They got me through the initial battery of eye tests pretty quickly, and Dr. Chinn's examination was thorough and easy to complete. He was easy to talk to, and it was a pleasant process.
