A central Ohio native, in 1979, Dr. Richards received his medical degree from The Ohio State University, where he also completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency. He is board certified and is a member of the American Urogynecologic Society. In addition, he was the first gynecologic surgeon in Columbus to be accredited by the Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy in both laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. He was the first to perform laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy and laparoscopic bladder suspensions in Columbus. He has more than 20 articles published in medical journals. Practicing in central Ohio for 25 years, Dr. Richards is a pioneer in minimally invasive gynecologic treatment including those for abnormal bleeding, sterilization, urine loss and pelvic floor disorders. He is the first in Columbus to perform office-based urethral sling procedures for urine loss, and first to perform Thermachoice™ endometrial ablation in the office.
