First visit. They asked me to come 30 minutes before my appt (which I did). I thought I would need to fill out paperwork (which I did not - I did it online prior to the appt). So I arrived 30 minutes before my scheduled time and had to wait 40 minutes. Visit very thorough - Doctor took a lot of time. Good listener.

Dr. Marshak was born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Georgetown University and his medical degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, D.C. in 1995. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine in 1998 at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Marshak became certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1998 and was successfully recertified in 2008.
Prior to opening his own practice in Rockville in 2010, Dr. Marshak worked in Northern Virginia for NOVA Medical and Urgent Care Centers starting in 1998. During these years, Dr. Marshak had the privilege of caring for thousands of adults in the Northern Virginia area.
Dr. Marshak minored in German in college and still maintains a strong knowledge today.
Dr. Marshak lives in the Rockville area with his wife and two boys.

Dr. Marshak completely changed by life. Just 6 month ago I was obese with horrible cholesterol profile, bad fitness shape and whole bunch of other issues. Now, I feel like 20 years younger, with normal weight, with excellent cholesterol profile and I'm in great fitness shape.

Dr. Marshak's office is very neat and it provides K-cup coffee and bottled water with magazines in the waiting area. His staffs are friendly but pretty efficient. He is very professional. He spent good amount of time explaining things to me. Only thing is that he is quite "uptight" during the visit, rarely smiled and looked very serious. This will definitely not affect that I will see him again.

The wait was long but I was told upfront that there was an emergency in the morning so he was running long. That length of time is not typical for his office. The staff is really fantastic and Dr. Marshak is easy to talk to and clear in his diagnoses.

I visited Dr. Marshak for my annual exam and he was friendly and thorough. I especially like his office's online portal, where I can log in to see my test results, prescriptions and appointment reminders. The nurses and secretaries are extremely nice too! When I scheduled my appointment, the secretary followed up with me to ask if I wanted an earlier appointment because it's requested that I don't eat 8 hours prior to my appointment. I'm glad she was so thoughtful to call and ask if I wanted to reschedule because I don't think I could have made it through the day until my original 2:30 PM appointment without eating!

My second time visiting this doctor and I have to say that he (and his office staff) are great! He takes the time to listen to any and all concerns and went over everything patiently. Also, you can get your lab work done in office if you are fasting so that makes it really easy and convenient. He also has an eportal for patients where they can view their lab reports, contact the doctor with questions, etc...

Today was my first appointment with Dr. Marshak, and I was very favorably impressed with the doctor and his very courteous and friendly staff. I was particularly impressed that Dr. Marshak took a detailed medical history himself, rather than having me fill out a form or delegating the medical history to a nurse or other paraprofessional. And there was no sense at all of the meeting with the doctor being rushed, as has unfortunately happened to me with other doctors.

Dr. Marshak has always shown me great compassion and genuine interest in my care and well being. He is one of those doctors who looks you in the eye when he talks to you about your care which I am sad to say is rare these days. Moving from a small town where I had the same doctors my whole life to this area with a chronic illness and chronic pain condition and history of cancer to top it all off frankly terrified me. I had to learn that here there were many "specialists" who cared for each of your needs, not just the same doctor who delivered you to do everything like in my town lol. I thankfully was blessed to find Dr. Marshak after some searching and frustrations in the beginning meeting doctors who either barely noticed I was even in the room as they typed quietly on their computers or talked on their cell phones giving me the "one minute" finger signal or were eager to put me on steroids for my Crohn's which is a treatment I deflect from due to side effects and they would make me feel demeaned and bullied after leaving their office never to return again. Dr. Marshak has that quiet way of listening to you and your needs and sets up a long term plan of care any patient would be comfortable with because he in fact makes sure you ARE comfortable with it. I feel safe and well cared for under his wellness plan as my doctor which is a lot to say for someone like me who was at first terrified and scared I would never find a good doctor again.
