Dr. Michelsen is a genius! After going to 4 other doctors, he was only one that had a diagnosis and plan. He’s always been so helpful to our family in some of the darkest times. We can’t recommend him enough.

What stood out for this appointment is the genuine concern for my son's injury and how best to accommodate his needs to repair a severe injury. The staff was ready for us, the nursing staff was very knowledgeable and caring and best of all Dr. Michelsen left us with the feeling that he was well in control of the situation. He anticipated the tasks necessary to address the severity of the injury and had booked an OR time upon referal to his office after a consult with ER staff prior to our next day in office consultation. He did not rush us through the appointment and took the time to answer all of our questions. The subsequent surgery the following day took longer than previously anticipated as the extent of the injury was well beyond what the initial x-Rays had indicated. Dr. Michelsen however took the time needed to make the needed repairs and did not rush, always keeping my son's well-being in mind. He is an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Michelsen is a native to Texas. He is one of seven siblings and was raised in the the Hurst-Euless-Beford area. After completing undergraduate school at Austin College in Sherman, Texas he attended medical school at the University of Des Moines. It was during medical school in Iowa that Dr. Michelsen met his wife, Lauren Michelsen.
After graduating from medical school in 1996 Dr. Michelsen chose to pursue a medical career in Surgery. After three years of General surgery training at Kern Medical Center in California he decided to further specialize into Orthopedic Surgery. He was able to train in orthopedic surgery at two of the busiest county hospitals in California; Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Upon completing his orthopedic surgery residency he was anxious to return home to Texas.
He moved with his wife and two young children, Joshua and Carli to Frisco, Texas in October of 2003. He began to practice with his current partner Dr. Bruce Douthit that same year. Upon his return to Texas, Dr. Michelsen became the Team Physician for Centennial High School. You can see him along the side lines at almost every game (surgeries pending).
Dr. Michelsen enjoys all that North Texas has to offer. He participates in many community activities and mostly enjoys time with his family. Dr. Michelsen is a huge sports fan and encourages his children to participate in the many sporting activities in the

Dr Michelsen explained the xrays and course of treatment. He told me to go right away to pick up my prescriptions at my pharmacy. But when I got there, there was nothing. I called the office and the lady who answered first said: I will tell the doctor and she hung up on me. Didn't even ask for my name. I called again and the second lady who answered said that the doctor sends the prescriptions after he's seem all his patients and that's why the pharmacy didn't get them yet. Though that's not what the doctor told me before I left.
Staff rating: 2 stars. The person doing the xrays is a bit rough and doesn't do his job with a good attitude. I was going to leave my watch on a stool and he yelled at me. I didn't feel comfortable with him.

My son and I had appointments today with Dr. Michelson today for separate knee concerns. He examined us and took his time reviewing and explaining the results of the x-rays. I did not feel rushed and he answered all of our questions.

I was in need of a 2nd surgical opinion, for my upcoming Microfracture and partial Menisectomy, when a coworker suggested I see Dr. Michelsen. Needless to say I was very impressed with Doctor Michelsens professional knowledge and initial consultation.
