A graduate Mechanical Engineer, Dr. Schopler attended the University of Wisconsin Medical School, completing his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at UCLA.
He also completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics at the Royal Children's Hospital of Melbourne, Australia.
Dr. Schopler has written articles, lecturing nationally and internationally on pediatric orthopedic topics and conditions.
His professional interests include pediatric sports injuries, scoliosis and neuromuscular disorders and reconstructive spinal surgery in adults and children.
Dr. Schopler is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a Member of the Scoliosis Research Society, Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, the Western Orthopedic Association, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Los Angeles County Medical Association. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Schopler and his wife, Robin, have two daughters, Lisa and Ellen. The family enjoys skiing, the beach, and outdoor activities.
