The multidisciplinary staff at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary(NYEEI) provides outstanding patient care for both benign and cancerous diseases of the head and neck, ear/nose/throat, and thyroid. Likewise, our specialized support staff provides both pre- and post-operative care - addressing rehabilitation, quality of life, and family support. As Chief of Head and Neck Surgery, my own experience comes from 28 years of practice. Seventeen of those years were at two US cancer centers, MD Anderson Cancer Ctr in Houston and Memorial Sloak Kettering Cancer Ctr in NYC. This allows me the opportunity to assist patients with concerns regarding a potential cancer diagnosis, as well as in the surgical management of an illness once identified.

He was concerned about how I was feeling; he's very cautious about the type of treatment he prescribes and calms you down when you're afraid and nervous. I left his office today feeling much better emotionally and even physically despite the fact that I hadn't even gotten my prescription filled. I am taking my medication now and will follow up with him.

If you wish to be treated by someone who is patient, thorough, and takes the time to explain in detail what your problem/s are, you should see Dr. Schantz. I wish there were 100 more like him out there in medical land!!

Dr. Schantz was wonderful. Not only did I feel confident seeing him because I looked up his credentials, but equally important to me was his bedside manner. Dr. Schantz was very easy to talk to and a very kind man. I am glad that he is the doctor I elected to go to when i found a lump in my neck. No matter what the diagnosis turns out to be - I know I am in the right hands!
