The nurse, Breonni, was wonderful, friendly, and helpful. I’m bit the biggest fan of medical offices, but Dr. Swami was communicative, attentive, and answered my many questions. I felt like my concerns were heard and taken into consideration, and I’ve already scheduled a follow up appointment.

Dr. Swami seems like he knows what he’s doing. He courteous and really listens to you. He cares for your health and provides really good care. My first visit was phenomenal with him. I have a follow up with him in three weeks! He’s professional, intelligent and courteous.

Dr. Swami provides pulmonary and critical care services at Stone Springs Hospital Center, as well as several other facilities in the DC metropolitan area. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of the Americas (Nevis), completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Boston University, and finished his fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at Boston University's Roger Williams Medical Center. Dr. Swami has received grants for original research in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and continues to collaborate closely with Boston and Brown Universities in efforts to develop novel therapeutic options for this relentless, devastating disease.
In addition to presenting original research at the American Thoracic Society's annual meetings, Dr. Swami has first-authored peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters, including contributions to Kelly and McGrady's 5-Minute Consult, Clinical Companion for Women's Health.
He performs a variety of procedures, including but not limited to bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound with transbronchial needle aspiration, and tunneled chest tube placement.
Beyond pulmonary medicine as a whole, Dr. Swami has particular interests in the etiology of ?dyspnea,? the sensation of feeling short of breath. Not uncommonly, this complaint is dismissed when common causes have been ruled out. Dr. Swami uses state-of-the-art technologies alongside meticulous review of a patient's physiologic data to elucidate the root cause of this frequently undiagnosed symptom.
Dr. Swami is also proficient in a variety of procedures, including bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, and tunneled chest tube placement.

When I arrived they said they had called me left me a message saying the doctor wouldn’t be in. No one ever left me a message. I check my phone log and saw an unfamiliar number but still there was no voice message. I live almost an hour away. I had to schedule for another day

This was my first time in this office and everyone was very professional and respectful. Dr. Swami took time to listen to me and ensured he understood my concerns. The wait time was a little long, but if it's because he takes time to listen to the patients, then I'm ok with it. Would definitely reccomend his office.

Dr. Swami was great. He really spends time getting to know you, your history, and makes thorough diagnosis and treatment plans. It is so refreshing to have a doctor sit and talk about all your options and answer all your questions when the current trend in health care seems to be spending the minimum amount of time with the patient as possible.

I am so thankful to have found Dr. Swami! I have suffered multiple lung infections this past year, and he listened intently and asked questions while taking notes to discuss my health history. I never felt rushed at all. He was very supportive in discussing what the options are to look more closely at my lung health. He took me through lung function tests, and has been incredibly supportive of helpful in scheduling other tests including allergy testing, CAT scan, blood work. I feel like I am in excellent hands with Dr. Swami. Plus, the front desk is awesome as well. I'd highly recommend Dr. Swami to anyone looking for a Pulmonologist!
