“Dr. Sunita, Kanumury is a great listener, I explained my symptoms to her which she then had me take a test in house aswell as a blood test so that she can have blood results that would provide her more accurate findings and the best treatment plan for me. Once my visit was over she sent my prescription electronically to my pharmacy when I arrived to the pharmacy my prescription was ready. Great Doctor friendly staff. ”

“Dr was working very hard her nurse was not in the office at the time of my visit however she was very quick and my waiting time was very small about 15 min. maximum. She was very careful and paid attention to my needs very good doctor highly recommend. ”

About Dr. Sunita Kanumury
Sunita Kanumury, M.D., is a practicing Consulting Allergist since 1993. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in New York and the University of Toledo in Ohio. Dr. Kanumury served as a fellow in Allergy, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
She is Board certified by The American Board of Allergy and Immunology. In 1999, the National Registry appointed Dr. Kanumury as a life member. She was recognized by the Consumer Research Council of America as one of America’s Top Physicians in Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Kanumury belongs to several national societies. She is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and a Member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. She is presently the PRESIDENT of the American Association of Physicians from India. She served on the Board of Trustees of the American Association of Indian Physicians (AAPI) and was Regional Director of the Mid-Atlantic Region (AAPI). She also served as Past President of the Association of Allergists & Immunologists from India from 1999 to 2001. For her services, she was recognized by the Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Kanumury has been on the Board of Utilization Management and the Quality Management Committee of University Health Plans for three years. She has served on the Latex, Drug and Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Committees with the American College and the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology.
She holds affiliations with Morristown Memorial Hospital, St. Barnabas Hospital, St. Clare’s Hospital, and Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Kanumury was very thorough in explaining procedures to be performed, read and explained my test results to me and provided me with instructions to be used at home. The office nurse, Lisa, took my information in a professional manner and was very informative in answering my questions while conducting the testing procedures. A follow up appointment was scheduled and prescription requests to my pharmacy were handled by the front desk personnel in a most efficient manner. Yes, I would recommend this office to those seeking an allergist.

It was unnecessarily for the doctor to tap my baby’s face that hard and tell me to stop talking when I began to talk so that my baby could tell her why she was there.

They seemed overbooked. The office staff was friendly, but the wait was long. The doctor kept asking if I had certain symptoms when she was trying to diagnose me, but she kept using medical terms that I had to ask her to explain. She did explain them and show me pictures of what she meant, but she assumed I knew the medical terms, which I found odd.

First I was seen an hour and a half past my appointment time. Second I didn't feel like I had the doctors full attention when she did finally see me. She kept walking in and out of my room to tend to other patients or staff.

I brought my young daughter to see Dr. Kanumury multiple times for her various food allergies. Overall, Dr. Kanumury does not listen to my concerns and talks over me. If I try to explain what experiences we had and food exposures, she cuts me off to ask her questions. She doesn’t want to hear what I have to say. During our last appointment she asked me, “What foods do you want tested?”, for my daughter’s blood test. I asked her what she thought, we discussed and agreed on a list of foods. After getting home I called and requested that one additional food be added to the list. She refused. After 4 phone calls with this doctor’s office and dealing with the rude afternoon staff, I never got what I has asked for. I will be taking my daughter to another doctor.

Dr. Kanumury was very thorough and professional, and genuinely concerned with my condition. I have never had a conversation that extensive with a doctor concerning my medical history and possible explanations for my symptoms. I'm very happy with first visit with Dr. Kanumury! The staff were all very helpful and excellent as well.

While I didn't see Dr. Kanumury herself, the other nurses and doctors I interacted with were great! They were really good about explaining what they were doing in terms of the prick test. I had never seen an allergist before so I was excited to find out what I am allergic to, and I finally found out! I would highly recommend the office!

Dr. Kanumury knows her allergies and reactions. I got tested for a variety of molds, grasses and foods. When I had a stronger reaction to the stamp test then I predicted, she made sure she gave me an anti-histamine and an epi pen shot to make sure I was safe driving home.

Dr Kanumury was WONDERFUL. I took my daughter in for something other Drs were not able to figure out and she was thorough, knowledgeable and great with my 3 year old. She spent a large amount of time with us and we never felt rushed. Her staff was great and the office was nice.
I will be coming back from the city to follow up with her!
