Dr. Susan Burkholder joined AFC/Doctors Express Indianapolis in June 2015 and is currently seeing patients at our Keystone location.
Board certified by the American Academy of Family Medicine, Dr. Burkholder is building her primary care practice through Doctors Express, expanding the facility’s focus on family care as well as urgent care.
Previously, Dr. Burkholder has practiced with Corizon Health based in Rockville, Ind., as well as Novia CareClinics. She was a primary care provider with IU Health/Southern Indiana Physicians and also served as associate medical director, occupational medicine provider and urgent care provider at various healthcare facilities throughout Indiana.
Dr. Burkholder received her Bachelor of Science from Manchester College and her Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. She did a psychiatric internship at Indiana University School of Medicine and a family practice residency with an emphasis on internal medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology at Methodist Hospital Family Practice in Indianapolis.
Dr. Burkholder resides in Brownsburg, Ind. with her husband. She is the current medical director for Kingsway Community Health Center in Avon, volunteering to provide inexpensive clinic services to residents in Hendricks County.
