Dr. Mann received her BA/MD degree in 1984 from the combined six-year program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. She did her residency training at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. She was a practicing physician at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates for 25 years until transitioning to her own practice. During her career she has participated in the delivery of more than 4,000 babies.
Dr. Mann is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and is a national consultant in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement in the field of Obstetrics. She is also a consultant at Harvard’s Risk Management Foundation, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and many hospitals and institutions across the United States.
She is a Board Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Dr. Mann is a member of the Executive Committee of Massachusetts ACOG, and is also a member of the Obstetrics Advisory Board of The Doctors Company.
The author of several publications on team training and communication in medicine, Dr. Mann is a frequent lecturer and consultant on these topics.
Dr. Mann lives in Brookline with her husband David, their 10-year-old daughter Laura, and two dogs, Cooper and Chili. She enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking, tennis, and spending time with friends and family, especially on Martha’s Vineyard.

Dr. Mann's office is very comfortable and the staff are friendly and efficient. She is a reasonable, definitely conscientious about her patient and their individual needs, not eager to up-sell, and very professional. Her receptionists are also amazing and their response time with any requests (prescriptions, lab tests, results, appointments etc....) is withing hours. I will continue to use Dr. Mann and recommend her to friends. Excellent OB-GYN.

My only complaint is that my labs was lost and I had to return for another test. However, Dr. Mann made sure that I wasn't charged for the 2nd test, and the repeat appointment was very quick. No worries about it really.

Dr. Susan was extremely nice and caring. She assessed what my problem was and also suggested taking other important yearly tests for my welfare. She was very polite and answered all my questions patiently despite her busy schedule. I was scared and almost on the verge of tearing up when she did the smear test but she made me feel at home and helped ease the whole process for me. With her many years of experience and service in this department, I am sure she is the best one could get for any ob-gyn issues.

Dr. Mann puts her patients first. She takes time to get to know you and answer all your questions. She is knowledgable and has a calming demeanor. The office staff are pleasant and helpful. The office space itself is comfortable and there are teas and snacks. Definitely not the typical sterile, medical office feel.

I hadn't been to the gyno in years so I was admittedly nervous to go in. However my experience with Dr. Mann and her office was great and I plan to stick with her as long as I'm in the area. Her staff was very polite and sweet and Dr. Mann herself was easygoing, kind, and rather funny. I felt comfortable discussing all my questions and concerns with her and she was very helpful regarding a somewhat related issue I had. One last thing, she was LGBT friendly and didn't make things awkward like some doctors have in the past about birth control (I'm a woman who only sleeps with women). I really appreciated it.
