We learn about your motivations; you teach me what kinds of conversations you have with yourself and with others. After 20+ years as a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, I have concluded that you won't learn as much about yourself using medications alone.
In contrast, psychotherapy gives you the freedom to imagine, understand, organize and narrate your personal history in order to become your most creative and fulfilled self.
