Loved getting my exam with Dr. Mendez. It’s been over 6 years since my last exam and my vision had changed. I was putting off going to a doctor. Dr. Mendez checked my eyes and though the new prescription isn’t much, I could see clearly again!
Thank you Dr. Mendez for encouraging words at my visit. I can’t wait to get my new glasses and be able to read words instead of guessing at what I am seeing.

Dr. Tamara Mendez earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, PA in 2015. In addition to her studies she served as Vice President of Students in Optometric Services to Humanity (SOSH) where she helped fundraise, coordinate, and participate in a humanitarian trip to Haiti. Additionally, she pursued advanced studies in Anterior Segment prior to graduating from Salus University in 2015. Following graduation, Dr. Mendez completed her residency in Primary Care with emphasis in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Mendez received her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2009. Dr. Mendez performs comprehensive, diabetic, and glaucoma exams as well as contact lens fittings. Moreover, her expertise is diagnosing, treating and managing binocular vision conditions.

Excellent Doctor but office is chaotic. Long wait times. Antiquated paper forms for new patients. Took forever while they entered the forms I just filled out in to the computer while I sat there verifying the things I just wrote. Doctor Mendez was great; office not so much.

Dr. Mendez is awesome! Kind, smart, funny. She was very courteous and helpful, guided me through the process of the eye examination and provided a lot of helpful information. I look forward to seeing her again for future vision appointments!

Took a long time to see me, but once i got back there they moved very quickly and efficiently. Doctor Mendez was very caring and considerate and took good care of me

I went in for a medical exam. Dr. Mendez was very kind and took my eye care very seriously. She ran all of the necessary tests, but the doctor that saw me afterward - Dr. Nassir I believe his name was, was very rude. Denied there was anything wrong with my eyes before checking the test results run by Dr. Mendez. And ultimately said "if theres still something wrong in a month, come back". So instead of starting treatment for what every other doctor has already theorized, I either have to schedule another appointment, or just let my condition worsen after a month.

Dr. Mendez was very professional and thorough and had an amazing bedside manner. We were seen exactly on time. She treated my 11 year old son and he was very comfortable with her. I’d highly recommend her.

I would absolutely not recommend this practice to anyone. I booked through zocdoc, was given an appt time, and showed up on time. I waited for 30 minutes before asking a front-desk staff member how long until I'd be seen. I was told there are 4 patients ahead of me, so it would be over an hour until I'd be seen. I'm not sure if zocdoc or Dr. Mendez think 1.5h+ waits are acceptable but that is unacceptable. Suggest removing this as an option for zocdoc booking, because it operates counter to the spirit of efficiency that the app typically upholds.

Tamara Mendez was friendly and professional. One of the receptionist (younger one of the two) does not know what she is doing. I filled out my information online prior to the appointment but it did not matter because receptionist did not even bother looking at it and asked me about insurance information.
