Terence Chang, MD grew up in west Houston, attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and received his medical degree at UTMB in Galveston. He completed his residency at Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program where he served as one of the Chief Residents. He then did his primary care sports medicine fellowship at Bayfront Medical Center where he served as team physician for the University of South Florida in Tampa and Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. He then returned to Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program as faculty, taught medical students from Texas A&M and UTMB in his role as clinical assistant professor, and practiced at Physicians at Sugar Creek and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
He continues to be a team physician for Houston Baptist University (NCAA Division 1). He leads the finish line medical team for the Houston Marathon and led the team during the 2012 U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials in Houston. He also provides medical coverage for Ironman Triathlons and consults for local area sports teams. In addition to general medicine, Dr. Chang takes interest in diagnosing, managing, and preventing athletic injuries.
