Dr. Murphy graduated from Boston University Medical School in 1995. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine/Primary Care tract at Boston Medical Center (the old Boston City Hospital). He dreamed, however, of having his own medical practice but the time for this had not yet come.
Dr. Murphy's group practice moved to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in 2003. Dr. Murphy admitted and cared for his own patients and instructed internal medicine residents. However, over time he found the commute too difficult into downtown Brighton. Thus in 2005, he joined the Dedham Medical Associates. This this was much closer to home and he admitted his patients to Faulkner and B&W Hospitals. But it was still not his own practice.
Then, in early 2007, almost by accident, Dr. Murphy heard of a single physician suite had become available for immediate occupancy in Weston Center. Once he saw Weston Center and the suite at 56 Colpitts Rd., he knew he had finally found the site for his own practice.
Dr. Murphy & WPC have thrived on maintaining a small, personalized yet professional primary care practice. We have patients who travel from NH, RI and throughout Massachusetts. We use an electronic medical record. Patients have access to their test results via the web and we have a thriving concierge option which has become very popular.
