Dr. Tony Issac, MD, is a Board-Certified Addiction Psychiatrist and General Adult Psychiatrist. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychopathology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Dr. Issac graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine degree and completed his Psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Richmond University Medical Center. He is double board certified, holding certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology - Psychiatry Board Certification, and the American Board of Preventive Medicine - Addiction Medicine Board Certification.
Dr. Issac has served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center and St. George's University. He currently serves as a faculty mentor to resident physicians at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
He is committed to continuing medical education and improving patient care quality. Dr. Issac is a member of the Patient Safety Council for Quality Improvement at Richmond University and belongs to the American Psychiatric Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. He is the course director of the Emergency Psychiatry lecture series for residents at Hackensack Meridian Health.
Dr. Issac believes in listening, effective communication, compassion, and building strong rapport with patients. He demonstrates an empathic, nonjudgmental approach to psychiatric treatment. Using an integrative approach, he combines psychotherapy and psychopharmacology to provide optimal patient care and long-term outcomes.
