Toure Knighton, M.D. comes to The Pain Center of Arizona with many years of experience and expertise in the world of pain management.
Dr. Knighton received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine before completing a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch and a pain fellowship at the same University of Texas.
Dr. Knighton is familiar to Arizona as he was raised in Tucson, and now lives in Phoenix. Dr. Knighton says his most inspirational mentors include his aunt, who is a physician and inspired him to pursue medicine from an early age and always focused on giving the best care to her patients, and his childhood pediatrician, who was caring, compassionate, and engaged with Dr. Knighton and his family at every visit. Dr. Knighton credits these two individual as his mentors and inspiring him to go into medicine.
When it comes to treating pain patients, Dr. Knighton enjoys that he can provide treatments that make a difference in the daily lives of patients who have been suffering. He hopes to help patients increase their levels of functioning and allow them exposure and participation in activities they would otherwise avoid because of their pain. Dr. Knighton is excited to join The Pain Center of Arizona to continue treating patients with a variety of pain issues in an estabilished and organized environment that places the well-being of the patient as the number-one priority.
