The office is very professional, clean, and well run. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Kumar is one of my favorite physicians, he is kind and helpful. Explains things clearly, and he takes the time to treat me as a human, not just a patient to get in and get out.

U. Nanda Kumar, M.D. earned his medical degree from the University of Kerala in India. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio in 1974, finished his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care in Wisconsin and California.
Dr. Kumar comes to us with over 33 years of experience; he spent the past 29 years as The Medical Director of the Pulmonary Section, Respiratory Care Department & Critical Care Departments at Trinity Memorial Hospital and St. Luke’s South Shore Hospital in Cudahy, Wisconsin. In 2008 he moved to Austin with his family. He is now practicing Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. He enjoys being a primary care physician with a special interest in sleep disorders, acute and chronic lung disease, including emphysema, asthma, and pneumonia.

My appointment was like any other. I found Dr.Kumar's manner to be a little cold but efficient. The follow up calls and dealing with the office staff was a huge pain. They could never find any files and I always ended up talking to the doctor directly to get things sorted out.

First, after confirming my appointment time, they called and said it no longer worked. If I didn't come in that same day but 1.5 hours earlier, I couldn't see him until a month later. Unprofessional.
Would've been charged an incorrect co-pay if I didn't ask about it.
The office didn't give me a request for lab work or send the request over to the lab when I specifically mentioned that I wanted lab work done. Very frustrating.
The office staff, while they're nice, they seem like they don't really know anything.
Woman who took my blood pressure couldn't even spell certain things I was listing.
Everyone was very nice but the environment made me feel like the office wasn't competent. There is nothing wrong with Kumar but I don't like his office and will not be using as my primary doctor.

Dr. Kumar is very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He is easy-going and very easy to talk to. He is very good at explaining complex subjects in easy-to-understand plain English. While he is attending to you, he seems focused solely on yu and does not seem to be trying to rush the appointment, he spends the time to fully explain concepts and diagnosis and make sure that you do not have any questions.
