Ukpong Nwankwo, M.D, FACP, is board certified in Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians, an honorary distinction awarded by the national organization that represents internists.
She received a Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine degree from the University of Ibadan in June 1987. After completing her residency in Internal Medicine, she served as the chief resident at Meharry Medical College. Thereafter, she began her practice in Brownsville, Tennessee.
Dr. Nwankwo is an adjunct Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the
Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She has been principal investigator in numerous industry sponsored research projects.
She is loved by all her patients because she takes time to listen to their medical and social complaints. She loves teaching medical students and resident physicians.

Saw this doctor as a first time patient. When I made her aware that I was on a control prescription (have been for 10+ years) I was immediately treated like a drug seeker. I was then told by the nurse that I was going to be giving blood. The doctor never said a word about this to me and was very confrontational when I asked her what the purpose of this was. When I refuse to give blood I was told to leave because she assumed I was seeking drugs. I told her that I was just disappointed that she had made no attempt to talk to me about my medical history. Completely unprofessional and rude.

Drove 45 min for the appointment. It took longer somewhat due to traffic.Was seen by the doctor less than 2 min, didn't even examine me, more like pretended to by placing her stethoscope on my chest and back. Will not be going back. This explains why you can get in so quickly and why there is always zero wait time.

I have to agree with the other reviews that the office staff was extremely friendly and Dr. Nwankwo's 3rd year med student was very eager to help. But she personally seemed ready to just get in and out when seeing me, instead of willing to treat the issues I've been having.

Staff was very friendly. Doctor was friendly, but she didn't seem like she wanted to be in the room for more than 5 minutes. Wouldn't want to waste her time with another appointment there. Disappointed, because I really wanted to find a primary physician near me that was great that I can keep.

My only issue is I booked an appointment that clearly states annual Pap smear. I was charged for an office visit and should’ve been and I don’t get my money back. That is horrible. I booked on this site that clearly states annual Pap smear. Wow!!! I will go somewhere else. I appreciate the time given.

Everything was great until the phlebotomist accidentally blew a vein, and then did not know that was what had happened so she used the same vein again. There was blood everywhere both times and though she was worried I do not believe she let the doctor know. No one checked on me before sending me on my way. I was still bleeding and feeling very sick when I arrived home.

You do better going to a free public clinic! Never again!! It's very nasty in that office! I saw roaches, the room was dirty, the bathroom was dirty and they had urine sitting around the bathroom. Terrible!!
