Dr. Trubnik is an ophthalmologist who has completed advanced specialty training in both the medical and surgical management of glaucoma.
Dr. Trubnik received her undergraduate degree from the esteemed B.A./M.D. program at CUNY Brooklyn College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree with special commendation in investigative scholarship from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine where she attained membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Trubnik completed her medical internship at the Lenox Hill Hospital and went on to complete residency training in ophthalmology at the renowned New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Thereafter, she acquired fellowship training in glaucoma at the internationally acclaimed Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Trubnik has presented original research at national ophthalmological conferences and has authored scientific papers for peer reviewed medical journals. She has, in addition, coauthored a forthcoming book chapter with the former chair of the glaucoma department and director of the glaucoma fellowship program at Wills Eye Hospital, Dr. George L. Spaeth.
Dr. Trubnik holds active memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the New York State Ophthalmological Society, and the Nassau County Medical Society.
A former professional ballroom dancer, Dr. Trubnik has competed in and won championships all over North America. She is also fluent in both spoken and written Russian and speaks conversational Spanish.

I was shocked. I have been going to Ophthalmologists since I was 2 years old and I have never had an experience like this one.
I have recently been having difficulty finding a pair of eyeglasses that work without me becoming dizzy. The staff was very compassionate and helpful but they were having a difficult time finding a prescription that worked for me. After being there for a while they tried a prescription for me and I voiced that what they were trying to show me was very blurry. The doctor told me that there is no way that this is blurry because earlier I looked through the same orientation and I had no complaints. Dr. Trubnik told me I was either tired or possibly lying. She then told me that I had to leave.
At the time I wish I had told her that the image wasn't just blurry, the image was so unclear I wouldn't have been able to tell you how many fingers a person was holding up. I now feel that maybe the lens got wet somehow. Whatever the case is, it doesn't really matter. Dr Trubnik was rude and unprofessional.
I may have caught her on a bad day or maybe I was being more difficult than I think but all i know is that very few interactions have made me feel this terrible.

Loved the professionalism of the office and Dr. Trubnik. They were very patient with me during my dreaded glaucoma test. However the wait time was ridiculous. I had an appointment at 9:30 and I wan't out the door until a little past noon. I'd go again, since I don't need an eye doctor that often. But it would be nice it wasn't such a huge wait time.
