Vickie's interest in nutrition began as a young adult, spending much time in the kitchen with her grandmothers. She initially pursued a premed path but quickly changed direction when she realized she could study Nutrition. Vickie graduated from Florida International University in 2013 with Magna Cum Laude honors, earning a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services. She also completed her Didactic Internship through Keiser with Summa Cum Laude honors.
With nearly 10 years working in hospitals, including 2 years as a Clinical Nutrition Manager, Vickie is extremely knowledgeable in Medical Nutrition Therapy. She supports clients with a variety of conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal diseases, post-surgical and wound healing, renal disease, as well as disease prevention and wellness. Vickie is passionate about providing weight-neutral care and helping people normalize their relationship with food. BMI and weight are not used in her care to determine health; instead, she focuses on behavior changes by incorporating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and finding joyful movement daily.
Vickie believes all people deserve nutrition care and practices with a HAES-informed approach. She is truly passionate about helping people become the healthiest version of themselves regardless of body size or weight.
When she is not working, Vickie spends time with her husband, two sons, and two dogs. She enjoys swimming with her kids on weekends, traveling, exploring new local parks, skiing, cooking, and discovering local eateries.
