Marina OB/GYN is thrilled to announce that Vida Rostami, MD, has joined the practice in Marina Del Rey and Hawthorne, California. Dr. Rostami's impressive education and medical training make her arguably the most brilliant OB/GYN in the area.
As her first name suggests, “Vida” has a strong interest in bringing life into the world. Her full-of-life personality and warm smile make her loved by her patients and everyone who knows her. She has an unmatched bedside manner and truly cares about her patients. She is thrilled to be joining Marina OB/GYN’s esteemed private practice as it will give her the opportunity to give her pregnant patients a personal and individualized approach to their care; something that hospital-based large practices don't allow their physicians to offer.
Dr. Rostami has a very low cesarean section rate, and her practice style drives her patient satisfaction scores far higher than the other obstetricians and gynecologists she is compared to. She focuses on the least invasive approach to care for her gynecological patients. She has extensive training and experience with da Vinci® robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and hysteroscopic procedures. She is a wealth of knowledge on birth control options, including IUDs. When medical management doesn't resolve her patients' issues, she is well trained to perform robotic hysterectomy, myomectomy, and hysteroscopic endometrial ablations.

Very upbeat personality but not a great listener of my needs and felt rushed, maybe spent 10 minutes in the room for a full annual exam, ultrasound with some additional preexisting conditions and needs to discuss. So definitely didn't feel like there was a customized service plan given my needs and requests.

My visit with Dr. Rostami was extremely pleasant. There was no judgment and she was able to answer all of my questions. The visit was relatively quick as I was only doing an annual exam and a pap test but I felt comfortable the entire time.
The only downside to my visit was the quality of the facility. The examination bed faced directly towards the door which made me a bit anxious.

I really enjoyed my experience with Dr. Rostami, she was so genuine and so warm, just really kind and could tell I was excited about everything. The waiting room was comfortable, large enough for space, TV, the benches were comfortable, I truly enjoyed every moment of it. I found their office after going somewhere else, prior and I didn't like my prior experience, but this was just so much better and so much more inviting. I'm really looking forward to my next appointment and I'm glad I went there!

Upon arriving at the appointment, the receptionist was a little rude and short — I asked if they validated parking. The doctor was great and nice, answering all of my questions fully. She ordered blood work for me and the nurse completely messed up the blood work order, not including anything in the actual order (it was blank). I waited at lab corp for 20 minutes trying to get in touch with the office to have them fax the correct blood work order. When I finally did get in touch, they weren’t apologetic about the error at all. Also, the actual patient portal doesn’t work and you cannot send any messages on it. When I asked why the portal doesn’t work to the receptionist on the phone, they said yeah it hasn’t been working, again with no apology or ownership. Overall, while the doctor was great, the overall experience was not because of the receptionist/nurse.

I’m new to the area and was trying to find a new OBGYN. They were listed under my insurance so I made an appointment. It was accepted and confirmed. I ended up moving it up a few weeks, once again easily changed through Zocdoc. Leading up to my appointment, I received an email to confirm and fill out patient info.
I then called a day before my appointment to mention something I’d forgotten to put in my portal. And asked a question. They actually had the notes I’d put in ZocDoc and were 100% aware of why I was coming in, etc.
Not only that - I was literally in and out in like 30 minutes which is insanely fast but it didn’t feel rushed at all. The doctor was fabulous, answered all of my questions and then some. I couldn’t recommend them more

I cannot express enough the amazingness that is Dr. Rostami. Since moving to Los Angeles, I have been to three OB/GYNs, looked to find that right fit. I have never had a better experience, Dr. Rostami was punctual, efficient, listened to my concerns and clearly explained everything to me. After seeing her, it made me realize how bad my other experiences were. She provided solutions, explained each potential outcome honestly and made me feel empowered to make informed decisions. Dr. Rostami was very kind and warm. However, I probably spent a total of 5 min with her. The appointment felt rushed. The nurse I talked to also told me the wrong amount of time my IUD is effective for (but later corrected herself). I will try a new doctors office next year.

I informed the dr of my very big fear of dr’s, especially women’s health ones, and she was very understanding. She walked me through every little bit explaining carefully what she was doing and why the entire time making it a very comfortable experience.

Because I filled out my intake forms in ZocDoc, I was able to get into an exam room very quickly. I had to wait a bit in the exam room, but in all the whole visit (including waiting and checking out/setting up next appointment) took about an hour which was pretty good in my opinion!

This was the worst gynecology appointment I've ever experienced. It started with a wait of an hour and a half total (one hour in the waiting room and then 30 more minutes after they took down my info). The facility is small, grimy, and FREEZING. When I finally was seen, the doctor was completely insensitive in her physical exam - totally disregarding that I was already in discomfort and just adding to it. On top of everything, she didn't tell me anything Google couldn't. I came in with a slew of symptoms and all she could offer was "well, this doesn't usually happen in someone your age". Obviously. Why else would I be at the doctor? Finally, I was set to get basic labs done (blood, urine, etc.) to check my hormone levels and was then told I had to book an appointment at an entirely different facility to do this, in addition to ANOTHER facility for an ultrasound.
