Dr. Marino is a native New Yorker. He attended undergraduate school at the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts graduating Cum Laude before attending graduate school at The Ohio State University where he worked on a Masters degree in Microbiology before attending medical school in New York. He graduated from the N.Y. College of Podiatric Medicine with Cum Laude honors and completed his foot and ankle surgical residency in 1988. He then moved out to California and began practice on August 10, 1988.
Dr. Marino is double Board Certified. He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery as well as the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine where he holds a life time certification. His skills include all facets of Foot and Ankle medicine, surgery, and sports medicine with particular expertise in ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY of the foot and ankle along with cutting edge LASER TREATMENT for fungal problems of the nails and ULTRASONIC SHOCKWAVE TREATMENT for recalcitrant heel pain and plantar fasciitis. He is a medical and surgical consultant for a number of worker's compensation insurance companies and is a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California. Dr. Marino has offices in San Francisco, Novato, and Sacramento.
In his treatment of his patients, Dr. Marino attempts to take a caring, conservative approach whenever possible. Surgery is always a last resort. The patient's goals are foremost in helping to establish a plan of care. He believes in treating his patients as if they were family.
Dr. Marino is married with 2 teenage children. He commutes to all three offices in an attempt to help as many people as possible.

Dr.Marino was an ABSOLUTE pro. He removed my ingrown toe nail and killed the area of the nail bed in less than 15 minutes. He made great conversation throughout and genuinely cared for my pain level and comfort. I can wholeheartedly recommend you see this man!

We were late to the appt 15 mins the Dr. took us in within 5 mins. Told us that we were late that he only had 10 mins before he was leaving. I apologized but he was arrogant took us in the rm ask my mom why we were there I told him she has a problem with her foot. My mom was in her wheel chair. I told him her problems and procedures she had done in the last 4 months and all he said was I needed to take her to the E.R. I told him we have been there so many times that haven't done nothing for her. Then he said she needed to be seen by wound care and gave me an address for one in Daily City. That was the end of her appt. Never look or examed her foot or asked what he could do for her. I would never refer him to anyone.
