Walda Laurenceau is a New York State licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) with national board certifications in acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is certified in clean needle technique by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM).
Walda received her Master of Science degree in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City through a full-time four-year graduate program with an emphasis on classical Chinese medicine theory and protocol. Her training involved over 3000 hours of education and 900 hours of clinical training. Under this educational training and NCCAOM certification, Walda is a Diplomate of Acupuncture (Dipl. Ac.). Prior to entering the field of acupuncture, Walda earned degrees from Rutgers University (BA in English) and Pace University (MS in Publishing).
She is a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY), and the American Acupuncture Association of Oriental Medicine (AAAOM).
Walda’s clinical acupuncture experience includes intensive externships at Housing Works, Grand Meridian Clinic in Chinatown, NYC, and internships at Pacific College Wellness Center. She traveled to Peten, Guatemala to study and volunteer as an acupuncturist with the organization Healer 2 Healer where she completed clinical rounds to serve local residents, as well as learned traditional healing modalities from local indigenous healers.
Outside of East Asian medicine, Walda is an avid student of nutrition, diet & lifestyle, breadth work, and western herbology where she also studied with Peeka Trenkle at the New York Open Center.
