*Dr. Mangal does not do eye consultations! He focuses exclusively on diseases of the retina, such as macular degeneration, retinal tears, and retinal detachment.* Dr Mangal is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained and sub-specializes in vitreo-retinal surgery. He obtained his undergraduate degree and Masters in Public Health degree from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) where he graduated near the top of his class. Subsequently, he served his internal medicine internship year at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, MD followed by his residency in ophthalmology at Hahnemann University hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he was awarded the title of chief resident. Following residency, Dr. Mangal completed his sub-specialty fellowship training in vitreo-retinal surgery at the National Retina Institute (NRI) in Towson, MD. His non-medical interests include investing, personal finance, economics and politics.
