Dr. Burnham is ultimately outstanding, and really tries to understand as much of the issue as possible. However, he is often heavily booked and his appointments usually run behind - for me it was an extra hour of waiting.

My PT said he does have very successful surgery outcomes. So if you are wanting a surgeon he can be a good option.

Dr. Burnham spent the entire appointment only talking to and acknowledging my boyfriend, even though I was the patient. He spoke about me in the third person as if I wasn't there, and didn't even bother to read my intake paperwork OR listen to me describing the problem and what I needed. He steamrolled me and spoke over me, again all while only referring to my boyfriend and talking about me to him as though I were not there, while also refusing to hear a word I said about the care I need. It was a deeply weird and unpleasant appointment, especially considering his office made me wait for over two hours to be seen the first time and then completely wasted my time on the second visit. See literally any other doctor, especially if you're a young woman.

Dr. Burnham has a great personality, bedside manner, and, at the same time, a true professional! He listens and decides the best way to proceed. It was a great experience for me--lifted my spirits despite bad news. I laughed so much between Dr. Burnham and his wonderful staff that I left with confidence that they will help.

i went in for a consult/ opinion. i had my mri already for him to see. and he was pretty straight forward in communicating the options available to me, considering that the herniation in my L5S1 was rather large.
i liked his practicality of how he explained risks and benefits (long term goals). if i am to go with the surgery option, i do feel comfortable with him.

I have had a few spine surgeries and trust Dr Burnham completely. I feel like he is a friend- he listens, is approachable, explains things in detail. I have had great outcomes from my cervical and lumbar fusion.

Dr Burnham explains tests results and his recommendations. He takes time to understand the patients situation, symptoms, response and concerns. When he saw the level of pain I was experiencing he took quick action to alleviate it that day. I would highly recommend Dr Burnham.

Dr. Burnham took a different approach to my pain by doing a trigger point injection instead of an epidural steroid injection. Within 6 hours, all pain was gone and I'm feeling great the next day. Hopefully this will last but from what I've reading this can be repeated with minimal risk. Thank you Dr. Burnham for taking a simpler and effective approach. This was never mentioned by my ortho back east.
