About Dr. Warren Okuns
As a board-certified family physician known for his kindness, active listening, and helpfulness, Warren Okuns, MD, leads Southwest Family Physicians in Tigard, Oregon.
Dr. Okuns earned his medical degree in 2005 at the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. In 2006, he completed his rotating medical internship at Port of Spain General Hospital, located in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
After finishing his residency, Dr. Okuns worked at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in San Juan, Trinidad and Tobago, as a medical house officer for the emergency department.
In 2007, Dr. Okun moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where he completed a family medicine externship and served as a family medicine resident at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Okun relocated to the Portland, Oregon, area in 2011, working as a part-time hospitalist and an outpatient family medicine physician. In addition to inpatient and outpatient family medical care, Dr. Okun has experience as a tutor to colleagues, an insurance medical claims consultant, and a medical record reviewer for disability claims.
Today, Dr. Okuns continues his career as a knowledgeable, attentive, and thoughtful physician at Southwest Family Physicians, where he provides exceptional care to every person who walks through the door.

I felt that my appointment with this doctor was awkward. He honestly made me feel like I shouldn’t have even been there, and there were so many awkward pauses when I was explaining things to him. I’ve had the same doctor for 11 years, and I moved out of state, so unfortunately had to switch. It made me really truly miss my old doctor because it’s so hard to find amazing providers these days. He was also pretty late to one of our appointments causing me to miss it because I had to go back to work, and he never apologized or called about my lab results. Maybe I was just spoiled at my last clinic, but I feel like this clinic just isn’t organized, or right for me. I ended up switching clinics.
