Dr. Cook grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia and attended Taylor Road Middle School and Chattahoochee High School. She went to Emory University in Atlanta and completed her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a minor in French. She completed both medical school and her OBGYN residency at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. As a senior resident she was elected Administrative Chief Resident and was awarded the Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Cook’s interests include high risk pregnancy management, minimally invasive procedures, and the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. She has performed research in the diagnosis of preeclampsia in hypertensive obstetric patients and has also studied the use of progesterone for the treatment of acute head trauma. Dr. Cook is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is currently board eligible.
Dr. Cook and her husband are outdoor enthusiasts and animal lovers who enjoy kayaking, hiking, and scuba diving. They currently have two four- legged family members, a welsh corgi named Brody and a rescue dachshund mix named Marty McFly.

Whitney has been my doctor for the past 5 years. I only see her for my annual checkup, but when she greets you and talks to you, she makes you feel as if you just saw multiple times.
She asks the right questions, not only wants to make sure anything that may be concerning you about your physical health, but also mental health.
I've never felt as comfortable spending time with my doctor, who has addressed all of my issues as much as Whitney.

Dr. Whitney cook delivered our baby, she is the best and during our visits too she was so positive and calm. I was in labor at 9.30 in John creek hospital(staff there and nurses were amazing there too) and she was not the on call doctor that day but she came from her house and delivered my Baby. We are so Thankful to her for making the process so smooth and special for us. I'm definitely going to Dr. Whitney cook for my 2nd Baby too! And I would highly recommend her!

So easy to talk to, makes me feel very comfortable and like I'm getting the best care, very knowledgeable, answers all my questions patiently and thoroughly, quick but thorough appointments, makes the whole process much easier and more comfortable. Staff is also great. Wait time is as expected and not long enough to interfere with my busy schedule. Highly recommended.

This visit was great. I had one complaint though... after having my blood taken, the nurse left and I was left alone for ten minutes. I literally fell asleep. Then I just got up and opened the door and another nurse was like "is everything ok?" And I told her no one had ccome in to tell me anything and she came back and told me they'd call me and I could leave. Everything was great until I felt like they forgot about me.

My wait time might have been closer to 30 minutes; I'm really not exactly sure. But Dr. Cook was definitely worth the wait, as she made me feel completely at ease, listened to all of my questions, was very easy to talk to, and did not make me feel rushed one bit. I really appreciate that and feel like that level of comfort can be hard to find. I'm so glad I found her through ZocDoc and will definitely be returning!

Doctor Cook is an exceptional OBGYN! She took care of me during my second (and very delicate) pregnancy. She always took extra care and precautions with my complicated medical history and made sure me and baby were healthy. The front desk is also very friendly and courteous. The doctor and nurse were both so nice. I was so terrified and have cancelled appointments like this in the past or not been able to stay. Although I still was an annoying patient and freaking out and such a baby (that was on me one they did everything they could to feel comfortable and stick it out, without pressuring me). Thanks

She is very attentive as well as her staff. The wait time was very minimal. It is my first pregnancy so I wanted a doctor who specializes in high risk pregnancy. I was confident that I am in good hands with her.

Dr. Whitney Cook is great! She has a really great bedside manner and really shows that she cares about her patients. She's very thorough and will ease any worries you might have.
The staff is also very friendly and efficient, but they don't use the ZocDoc forms even though you have the option to check in beforehand.

Liked Dr Cook very much. (This was our first visit to either of the offices.) Would recommend her on basis of professionalism & personality. The front office staff at Alpharetta seemed fine although overheard them addressing another patient in a bit less of a professional manner. Did not like the uncollected urine cups in the bathroom or the pregnant nurse with a know-it-all, "don't want to do your paperwork", snotty attitude. Left wondering if staff / office at JC is any better.
Also - had to fill out all paperwork again even though did the Zocdoc online.
