As a new patient I was amazed at how good the office staff was about confirming and reminding me of my appointment. When I arrived I signed in and was called up for my paperwork in a matter of minutes. It was very clear and didn’t waste my time filling out about what was wrong only to have to repeat it to the nurse and doctor. I was called to the back early and gave my information to the nurse to type in. When done Dr Tew came in in under 3 minutes. First time I have ever seen a doctor come in that quick. I thought I was gonna be another number....wrong. Dr. Tew took time to really listen to my reason for visit and discuss any and all aspects of treatments. I finally feel I have found the doctors office that not only has friendly competent staff but also doctors that care and value my time as much as theirs. I can not recommend Dr Tew and her staff enough. This is what healthcare should be.

In addition, the staff was intentional about affiliating me with the practice policies since I was a new patient. From the rude receptionists (on the phone and in person) to the abrupt and disinterested doctor, my visit to Lee Branch was by far the worst medical experience I've had in the Birmingham area. Dr. Tew has a terrible bedside manner. Not only did she refuse to smile, she spent all of 5 minutes listening to me, not discussing my symptoms with me (after I had waited nearly an hour to see her). I did not receive any care from this office; instead, Dr. Tew sent me to the main hospital for a test, and her nurse left me a voicemail 2-3 weeks later with the basic results and a vague recommendation. They did not ask me to come back for a follow up visit, even though I had plenty of unanswered questions. When I called to see another doctor in the same office a few months later, the receptionist was blatantly rude from the start and only got more unpleasant when I told her I did not connect with Dr. Tew. I will not recommend this office to anyone, regardless of the high reviews people to seem to give the other doctor in the office.

When I entered I did not feel welcome as the old woman with glasses when I entered she was on my left hand side, was very unprofessional and rude and she needs to grow up, may be they just treating black or white patients and not Indian, Arabs or Mexicans, the front office assistant on my right hand was courteous but in the beginning both of them did not even said hello or hi, which is very unprofessional, also the nurse was too loud to talk to me and was very rude , I am here almost 21 years all my life but what I see in Alabama is very unprofessional attitude towards any other race than black or white which is offcourse not justified in medical field, my doctor Whitney was professional and she helped me understand the diagnosis, but still was not perfect.
