William J. Ciccone II, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic specialist in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and was recently named a "Master in Shoulder Arthroscopy" by the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). With this distinguished ranking, Dr. Ciccone will instruct surgeons and residents in advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques.
Dr. Ciccone received a bachelor's degree in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder and graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine. He then completed his internship and residency at the Pennsylvania State University at Hershey Medical Center. He completed fellowship training at the University of California San Diego in arthroscopy and sports medicine.
Dr. Ciccone's sports medicine experience is highlighted by previous position as team physician for the Colorado Rockies AAA team Sky Sox, and as Medical Director for the Rocky Mountain State Games, the State Games of America, and the United States Olympic Training Center events in Chula Vista, CA. The doctors in this practice are great. Wonderful bedside manner and easy to understand. However, the woman who does the appointment booking was incredibly rude and even argumentative when she called me to change my appointment. I had been referred to the office by a doctor in urgent care the day before but she called to reschedule because she said that particular doctor in their practice didn't treat my injury. She even went so far as to tell me my kind of injury didn't even exist, which it does. She then went back and forth with me about how I needed to bring a copy of x-rays that were taken and I had to repeat to her at least at 8 times that I did not have any x-rays taken and that is why I set up the appointment in the first place. Overall, the doctors are great after you get through the pit bull that is their woman who makes appointments. I was also on crutches and the doctor sent me to her desk to schedule up a follow up after my original appointment and she said she was too busy and had me go all the way around the office to the desk at the front to schedule. Not kind or thoughtful when I was struggling to walk with crutches. I will immediately ask to speak to someone else other than her over the phone if I ever need to schedule another appointment.

I had scheduled the appointment as a new patient at 8:20 am and was not seen by the doctor until around 10:10 am. I know as a new patient that it sometimes takes longer to update insurance and input forms but 2 hours without any communication was not acceptable. Dr Ciccone was great once I got to see him but the amount of time it took really took away from the experience.
