About Yaemi Matias
During my internship at Gouverneur Hospital, I worked with a patient who experienced severe spasms in his arms and legs every time he tried to walk. He had seen several acupuncturists before me. Through our work together he found confidence — and today he is able to walk again, not perfectly, but with strength and belief in his own body.
It is patients like him who give me hope and continue to inspire my practice.
I am a licensed acupuncturist and graduate of the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and hold a Yoga Teacher Certificate. I continue my training in healing sciences originating from Southeast Asia, deepening my understanding of how to open pathways to the body's own healing wisdom.

I recently had a session and the experience was incredible from start to finish. Yaemi created such a calm, welcoming space and really took the time to listen and understand my needs.
I left feeling more relaxed, balanced, and refreshed than I have in a long time.

Dr Yaemi Matias was incredibly well informed, helpful, and professional. It was my first time doing acupuncture and she was recommended by some friends, I can see why now! She also pointed out other helpful things she noticed, like what my tongue and ears were telling her about my health. Fascinating.
I feel invigorated and cared for in a way that western medicine has not provided for my ailments, especially under the care of with Dr Yaemi

10/10 recommended as someone I’ve booked for my treatments regularly. Yaemi takes the time to truly understand the best way to approach my source of pain I needed to alleviate. After multiple visits with Yaemi I’ve been able to go back to doing judo as well as win a few competitions around New York City. Thank you!

Yaemi is really good at what she does, and she’s young and still learning new things, she has worked on me in the past and she was the first person who ever did acupuncture on me. I was skeptical at first of acupuncture in general but I see now that it has stood the test of time for a reason. I even did moving acupuncture one time with her and it was a very unique experience. My body has went through a healing experience in my sessions with Yaemi.
