The doctor was very thorough in explaining what he observed from my x-rays and answered my questions. He also came in within :15 of them being taken. The problem was I waited over 1 1/2 hours from arrival until they took me back for the x-rays. The regular assistant was very nice and admitted I should have been seen sooner. It appears that the other lady who was described as a "floater" left me sitting inside the exam room. She was rather cold and abrupt when I tried asking her a question. Perhaps she was having a bad day or so it seemed.

Excellent staff and facilities. I was seen before my scheduled appointment time. Doctor Samocha was courteous and listened to me and gave very clear diagnosis and treatment suggestions. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Yigal Samocha is an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon serving patients in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Samocha is dedicated to providing a high level of professional care, specializing in surgical management of a wide variety of neck and back problems.
His philosophy is to stress conservative treatments whenever available. If surgical intervention is required, he will take the time to explain the details of the procedure and explain all possible alternatives.
Growing up in South Texas, Dr. Samocha is dedicated to the care of his community. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin in 2000, Dr. Samocha completed medical school at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 2005. After that, he rotated through some of the most prestigious hospitals in New York during his Orthopedic Surgery residency, including Hospital for Joint Disease, NYU, Westchester Medical Center, and St. Vincent’s.
Dr. Samocha then completed a Spine Fellowship at the world-renowned Texas Back Institute in Dallas before joining Fondren Orthopedic Group in Houston in 2011. Since then, he has been caring for the necks and back of Houston with great compassion and diligence.
To meet the growing needs of patients to the east of Houston, Dr. Samocha has also opened an office location in Baytown. He practices at Texas Orthopedic Hospital and The Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
With an interest in a variety of spinal pathologies, including trauma, degenerative, deformity, and pathologic conditions, Dr. Samocha is dedicated to providing a high level of compassionate patient care.

He did not treat my pain. He didnt give me anything-my pain was a nine and I am hanging on by my fingernails. His nurse said she would call a medication in to help with nerve pain as i had tingling down my arms but she didnt. The office is a money factory. No one cared that I left there in tears. He said he only gave pain meds if he had done surgery and knew you were really in pain.

The waiting area was packed! But this is a very well-oiled machine. I actually arrived early to complete my paperwork and was called back by the nurse 5 minutes before my appointment time. The doc was very helpful and focused on the problem. He did not push surgery as some docs do. Very satisfied...

I was a bit unnerved when I saw how many people were in the waiting room, but I have to say that place runs like a well oiled machine. As soon as the hands on the clock hit my appointment time, I was called back. I received X-rays, talked to the doctor (who was very nice & informative), received my Rx and paid for my visit in less than 40 minutes. AMAZING! Definitely recommend!
