Yomaris Pena M.D is a young and successful doctor who has earned the love and respect of her community and everyone who has met her during her career as a medical doctor and assistant professor in two prestige universities in Dominican Republic and in the USA.
She believes to be a citizen of the universe, even though her roots of origin are Dominican.
Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic and raised half of her life in Puerto Rico opened her soul to learn about different cultures and adapt medicine to each individual person as she recognized that diversity and different ideologies may interfere with the health and overall wellness plan for each one of us.
She strives to understand and connect with each one of the people that she gets in contact to meet their needs to the best, in other words, keeping you healthy( physically and emotionally) is her goal.
Performed part of her Internship as a medical student in St Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY and Creighton University Medical Center, Nebraska for Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology respectively, also community hospitals in Dominican Republic such as Arturo Grullon- Pediatrics Center and Hospital Jose Maria Cabral y Baez( Ob/GYN and Surgery) in Santiago Dominican Republic.
Graduated from Medical School in 2003 at the age of 23 years old was a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Pontificia Universidad Catholic Madre y Maestra Santiago in Dominican Rep.(PUCMM)
Assistant Professor in the Morphology Department-PUCMM from 2001 until 2004 imparting classes in the area of Embryology, Anatomy and Hystology.
Internal Medicine Residency done at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey from 2006- 2009 were she was exposed to under served communities such as Newark and East Orange to the privileged patient population of Hackensack, NJ.

Yomaris Peña is very good useful and helped me a lot. The customer service is pretty good just a little slow. The only problem I have with yomaris is that she makes appointments with her patients from 10 am when she arrives the office after 12. I usually have to wait until after 12 to see her when I make my appointments by 10 am automatically thinking that she would be in the office already.

For a first visit i was treated so much better than all my visits with my previous doctor. Dr. Peña makes you feel comfortable and and looks out for your best medical interest. It's like talking to one of my college peers, she listens accordingly and is sweet. The staff were respectful and courteous, clean clinic and well groomed..im really glad I switched to this doctor =D

HIGHLY recommend!! My mom couldn't stop raving about her experience with Dr. Peña. She described her as very warm, charming and super attentive to her needs and questions. The secretary I spoke to over the phone was an absolute sweetheart as well. I explained that my mom was going for the first time but that I wouldn't be able to accompany her and she told me they'd take good care of her there, and now I'm certain that will be true. From my own experience, there are few places in Wash Heights where you can find a quality doctor that you don't have to wait several hours to see. This is one of them! I know my mom will continue seeing Dr. Peña in the future. :D
