everyone that I interacted with at the office was wonderful and so helpful! The doctor took his time to talk about my issues and working WITH me to come up with a plan for treatment, instead of telling me this is the plan I have decided and you will follow it. I would recommend this office to anyone that has pain issues, and needs a doctor that listens.

Great! I have been a patient for over 16 months and have never had anything less than a friendly and professional visit from office staff through the provider. Wouldn't switch for the world.

More about Dr. Yuen Cheng, MD
Dr. Yuen Cheng is double board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with University Honors majoring in Finance and minoring in Biology. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Cheng completed his residency training in Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Management at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He continued further specialization training with a Pain Management fellowship at Tufts University School of Medicine’s St Elizabeth Hospital, a premier interventional pain management program in Boston, Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Advanced Pain Care, Dr. Cheng practiced pain management in Austin and Cedar Park. He has held academic appointments as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Clinical Associate of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.
In the past, Dr. Cheng has served as a medical volunteer with Team Rubicon, an international disaster response nonprofit consisting of military veterans, first responders and medical personnel; he hopes by joining Advanced Pain Care that he can better reach and serve the veteran community as well as chronic pain patients in general in the Austin, Bastrop and Killeen areas.
Dr. Cheng is originally from Hong Kong. He lived in Canada for several years prior to immigrating with his family to the United States (he wasn’t born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could).
In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, hiking, swimming, doing CrossFit, training his sister’s cat and playing with his niece and nephew.
