Zachary grew up in a very athletic family. It created a passion for health and human performance. His passion led to athletic scholarships… which led to a career-ending knee injury. After healing, he was inspired to help other people heal.
Zak has always been intrigued by how the human body works. Having provided care to patients in many different settings created his wellness-based approach to treating patients. His goal is to provide effective, integrated, and compassionate care to his patients.
He worked full-time in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as a paramedic while obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Human Performance from Louisiana State University. He went on to obtain his Masters of Science with Honors in Physician Assistant Studies from AT Still University.
Zak joins BackFit Health + Spine after spending 10 years working in Emergency Medicine. He has also worked in Cardiology, Inpatient Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Urgent Care, and Interventional Pain Management.
He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children. He stays active with all-things sports, as well as hiking, music, travel, and cross-fit.
