Dr. Zahirra Kara graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2003 and practiced in her in own clinic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for 10 years before moving to Washington State. Until recently, Dr. Kara’s practice in Washinton State has mostly been to provide relief work for other chiropractors because this offered her flexibility to care for her twin daughters. Dr. Kara practices evidenced-based chiropractic with a patient-centered focus.
She employs treatments that are the most effective while keeping the patient’s needs and lifestyle in the forefront.
Dr. Kara is a strong advocate of exercise and proper nutrition during recovery from injury or active illness phases, and especially as part of a healthy lifestyle. She is trained in Active Release Technique (ART®) and Graston techniques, commonly used to treat conditions such as tennis elbow, carpal tunnel and other repetitive strain injuries. She has also been trained and uses low-level laser therapy to treat a wide range of issues.
Dr. Kara treats a full spectrum of conditions and people. She focuses on neuromusculoskeletal problems that are both acute and chronic. In addition to treating sports injuries and chronic postural problems, Dr. Kara has worked with patients who have musculo-skeletal symptoms related to systemic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis (and other inflammatory arthropathies), multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and cancer, to help them maintain or increase mobility and improve quality of life.
