Dr. Rice was born and raised in Seattle, Washington graduating from Lakeside High School. She then obtained her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from Princeton University. Returning back to Seattle, she attended the University Of Washington School Of Medicine.
Dr. Rice is triple boarded in dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and pediatrics. Her pediatric training was at Seattle Children’s and her dermatology training was at the Emory University School Of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology. She served as chief resident in her senior year of both respective residency programs.
Over the last 10 years, Dr. Rice has been active in the Emory Dermatology Department. Prior to her departure, she was the Director of the Clinical Trials Unit in the Dermatology Center for Outcomes Research and Safety, serving as a principal or co- investigator in about 30 clinical trials, and the Dermatology Department Media Liaison, contributing to CNN and Fox News medical segments, Allure magazine, and Web MD. Additionally, she has several peer-reviewed publications in the top dermatology journals, including JAMA Dermatology, Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, and Dermatologic Surgery Journal. Also during her tenure, she contributed to the in the training of over 100 residents. She continues to be actively involved as an Adjunct Clinical Professor.
Of note, Dr. Rice is a devoted wife to Ret. Captain William S. Rice (together 20 years and counting) and proud mother of two amazing daughters, Windland and Willow. Together they enjoy reading, dancing, swimming and traveling the world.

I’m really disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Rice. After waiting for over an hour and asking for a full body check, all she looked at (for 5 seconds) were my legs. She kept trying to sell me expensive creams and procedures (laser) and I could tell she was in a rush because she didn’t even check the rest of my body. I had questions I still wanted to ask but she was already standing up and opening the door. It’s really disheartening to wait a month+ for this appointment to have it go that way. I’m very disappointed.
Also, my appointment was at 10:40 and I wasn’t seen until 11:40. These long wait times caused the waiting room to be crowded and in COVID times that’s not ideal. She apologized for the wait and at first I was going to dismiss it until my appointment went horrible. It was the fastest appointment ever for the long wait times. Also, if the Dr. is going to recommend laser, maybe she should ask me if I’ve ever gotten it done (I have). Instead of it being a conversation, it was a speedy appointment. She should make all her patients feel valued instead of rushed. I'm not returning.

My visit was a bit of a mixed bag. The address appeared wrong on Zocdoc which led me to the wrong side of the city. Dr. rice's google info is listed with Emory which is also not accurate. It was just a really tough drive to get to the right facility.
Overall her staff was friendly and was able to address all my questions. Dr. Rice was patient and listened to my concerns. I had been looking forward to this visit for a long time.
