Dr. Friberg graduated from UCLA with B.S. in Physiological Science. After receiving her Doctorate in Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry with Cum Laude and Honors, Dr. Friberg completed an additional year of post-doctoral residency in Salt Lake City, Utah. The mixed clinical environment of her residency at the Salt Lake VA and University of Utah Moran Eye Center allowed her to evaluate, manage and treat various eye diseases and fit specialty medical contact lenses. During the clinical rotations prior to her residency, she rotated through the Tucson VA Hospital and Blind Rehabilitation Center and the Indian Health Service Hospital on the Hopi reservation in AZ. She also worked at the Cedar Sinai Medical Group in Beverly Hills working side by side in a co-management ophthalmology practice. Dr. Friberg started to work at Uptown EyeCare in 2007 and took over the practice in May of 2008.
As a proud Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Friberg is dedicated to the highest standard of optometric practice, and desires to provide the most attentive, yet friendly and comprehensive care to her patients. Her personalized service is reflected in calling patients to follow up on their treatment, and hand writing all referral thank you notes.
Native to a small EU country in the heart of Europe - Slovakia, Dr. Friberg grew up playing piano duets with her sister, dancing in various folklore ensembles and spending summers in her family's cottage in the Low Tatra Mountains. She and her husband, an aerospace engineer, enjoy meeting new people in their neighborhood and hiking in the Pacific NW. Both also like photography, visiting galleries/museums, skiing, gardening and of course, spending time with each other and their twin girls Abby and Ada!

The office is cute and very tastefully decorated. Their selection of glasses is large and beautifully curated. The staff is wonderfully inviting and welcoming, very friendly and attentive. There was no pressure to shop for glasses in store, they will still make adjustments on glasses purchased elsewhere. Dr. Friberg has a wonderful beside manner and is easy to chat with, just friendly and easily relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and am looking forward to seeing them again when I bring my son in!!
