I've seen four different dentists about my jaw popping over the years, and this is the first time I was greeted with empathy and understanding of the root cause from the practitioner. Dr. K indicated that the popping isn't from my wisdom teeth, as other dentists had concluded, but from a misaligned lower jaw from poor orthodontic work as a teen. It explained a decade's worth of migraines, chronic neck and shoulder pain, poor posture, and even the sense that my cheeks don't slim down when I lose weight!

I checked to see if my insurance would be covered prior to arriving to this in-network Dentist. Once there, they would only work on my hurting tooth if I paid money upfront which my insurance said they know they’re not supposed to accept. They kept talking about an in-network fee and reimbursement but my insurance told me to call them immediately if anything like this happens again and to appeal once their claim is processed.
