Hello! I’m Laura, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over a decade of experience in mental health care. I earned my Master’s degree with honors from Rowan University, and my clinical background both inpatient and outpatient care. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
My approach centers on providing compassionate, holistic, and collaborative care. I believe that each person’s mental health journey is unique, and I work closely with my clients to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific goals. I have extensive experience treating conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and more.

Laura is amazing, definitely ADHD friendly and accomodating! I recently did a cross-country move to Oregon and was anxious about having a lapse in medication since my previous provider is out of state. While searching for reputable providers I came across Laura and booked a same week appointment--I am SO glad I did. She showed compassion and interest in my background, provided some great advice for my new living situation, and made sure my care was continued in Oregon seamlessly, sending my prescription the same day. I highly recommend :)

I have thoroughly enjoyed my two sessions with Laura. She identified multiple things that we needed to work more in depth, as well as got me started on a medication that I believe is helping. She listens very intently and brings up what she believes is import to focus on from those things. I feel like I am in a safe space in our appointments (even through the virtual meetings, which I was worried about) and that she's genuinely concerned about my wellbeing.

I was in a difficult situation with my prescriptions not being able to be filled by my previous doctor. I was feeling really stressed out about it, but Laura answered my call almost immediately and she was understanding of my circumstances and helped me solve my problem quickly with minimal hassle. She even called after my appointment to confirm that my prescriptions would be able to be picked up without issue.

My experience with Dr. Peterson was one of the best I've had with any provider. She was warm and professional. She was engaging and interacted with me in an authentic human manner in which she shared her humanity with my own. I didn't feel like another number or patient file to get through. She didn't just address my diagnosis, she addressed me as a living breathing being with sensitivity and a gentle awareness. She provided a safe space for me to feel secure in sharing with her intimate and sensitive details about my lived trauma and I didn't fear judgment from her because she quickly established she is a safe professional provider with a caring heart and soul that drives her education, expertise, qualifications, and experience in her field.

It was supposed to be a video appointment and when the time came their was no link sent besides one for maps that showed how to get to her office. But again it was set as a video call so I honestly am not sure what happened but it was an important visit to me and it fell through. Otherwise I dont know anything else about this doctor.
