Hi! My name is Amani Jackson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Anchorage, Alaska with experience working with clients statewide, including Rural Alaska via telehealth services. I primarily work with children, adolescents, and their families who are struggling with suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, depression, anxiety, low-esteem, struggle dealing with stressors due to lack of healthy coping skills, and processing trauma.
In therapy, I utilize a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), and mindfulness techniques to address various mental health challenges. These approaches allow me to collaboratively identify, challenge, and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, process past traumas, develop effective coping strategies for managing emotions and behaviors, and cultivate present-moment awareness for enhanced emotional regulation and well-being. By drawing from these evidence-based modalities, I tailor my approach to meet each client's unique needs, fostering meaningful and sustainable change.
I primarily work with children, adolescents, and their families who are struggling with a range of mental health challenges including suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulties coping with stressors, processing trauma, and those how struggle with substance misuse. My therapeutic approach is tailored to address each client's unique needs, providing compassionate support and evidence-based interventions to promote healing and resilience.
In my sessions, I cultivate a warm, accepting atmosphere where clients feel safe to openly express themselves without fear of judgment.
